Regulating for Blockchain Ecosystem Development Means Getting Past the Stumbling Block of Regulatory Incrementalism

An incrementalist strategy based on the single supporting column of engagement with public capital has
been adopted by policymakers in response to the disruption caused by blockchain-based crypto assets. In
order to avoid the consequences of incrementalism, this paper examines why we need to rethink how we
oversee cryptoassets. It also suggests how we may create a more significant regulatory response that better
takes into account the core features of blockchain technology.
